One of them is parking. That’s why we have decided to look at Disneyland parking in California
Theme Park Reservations Required
To stay at their Disneyland hotels, attend the theme parks, or eat at some restaurants, Disneyland requires reservations. This has been designed to manage the people visiting on that particular day. Only the ones who have made a booking on a particular day will be guaranteed that spot.
There is no reservation needed for parking, although you can purchase a standard voucher in advance. The standard parking voucher is valid for two years from the date of purchase. The types of parking, such as preferred parking or oversized vehicles, can be upgraded at the toll booth when you arrive at the parks.

Disneyland License Plate Recognition Technology
The Walt Disney Company has employed the automatic license plate reader (“ALPR”) technologies at various points of entry onto the physical properties situated in California. The ALPR technology reads and stores vehicle license plate information.
The data collected by the ALPR technology is intended to:-
- To enhance your experience at the property
- Assisting in locating a lost vehicle
- To prevent unauthorized use of the facilities
- To detect, investigate and prevent activities that may violate the set policies

Where to Park At Disneyland
When parking at Disneyland there are a number of factors that you will need to consider so as to determine where to park. These factors are:-
- The part of the Disneyland Resort you are visiting
- The direction you coming from
- Whether or not you have a Magic Key Pass which includes free parking with restrictions
- The size and type of your vehicle
- The length of your stay at Disneyland Resort

Those visiting Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park who are not staying at the hotel can access the parking that is best suited for them.
What Time Does Disneyland Parking Lot Open
The Parking Lot for theme parks at Disneyland California opens 1 hour before the opening time of the park. The theme park advises one to arrive at the opening time.

To know which slots are available, as you approach the Disneyland Resort, just follow the signs to one of the parking facilities listed below. All the locations are close to both of the theme parks.

Disneyland Parking Rates
Disneyland Parking Fee or Disneyland parking cost depends on the type of vehicle you have. The cost for parking at Disney Land is as follows:-
- $30.00 per car or motorcycle
- $35.00 per oversized vehicle, motor home, or tractor (without trailer) – at the Toy Story Parking Area only
- $40.00 per bus or tractor (with extended trailer) – at the Toy Story Parking Area only

Disneyland Preferred Parking
There are times you might want to park in a designated Preferred Parking space. You might want to park close to the escalators or elevators. The preferred parking at Disneyland is available at the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure and Pixar Pals Parking Structure. When you arrive and purchase Preferred Parking, you will be directed to the appropriate parking slot.
If you had purchased a ticket all you need to do is to pay the difference for that day and be upgraded to the Preferred Parking at any Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals Parking Structure toll booth.
The Preferred Parking spaces are limited and are subject to availability.
Disneyland Preferred Parking Rates
The Daily Preferred parking costs are as follows:-
- $45.00 per vehicle
- $15.00 per vehicle to upgrade for a pre-purchased parking
The Preferred Disneyland parking slots are subject to availability.
To get Preferred Disneyland parking you can upgrade at the toll booth.
The benefit of Disneyland’s preferred parking is to be near the elevators and escalators.
How Do You Pay For Parking at Disneyland
There are different methods of payment that you can use to make for your parking at Disneyland. The accepted Payment Methods are:-

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
If you have an electric vehicle, there are a number of limited ChargePoint charging ports that can be found in the Pixar Pals Parking Structure, Mickey & Friends Parking Structure, and Toy Story Parking Area.
In order to use the port, one is required to scan a ChargePoint card so as to activate the charge.
Resort Tram Service
The Tram service at the Disneyland Resort offers Guest transportation from the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals parking structures to the Main Entrance Esplanade between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.
Theme Park Disabled Parking
Disneyland Parking features designated parking slots for the disabled. You can find them throughout the Disneyland Resort, the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals Parking Structures, and the Toy Story Parking Area.
You can always inquire at the toll plazas or follow directional signage.
The Standard parking rates apply at all parking lots.
If a designated disabled parking space is not available the parking Cast Member will direct you to an available parking option closest to an elevator at the parking structures or to bus transportation at the Toy Story Parking Area.
Recreational and Oversized Vehicle Parking
If you have a recreational and oversized vehicle you can find availability at the Toy Story Parking Area.
Recreational and Oversized Vehicles include:
- Tractor-trailers
- Dually trucks
- Buses
- Motor homes
- Recreational vehicles (RV)
- Passenger vehicles with a trailer
- RV campers
Downtown Disney District Parking
The Downtown Disney District parking is located at the Simba Lot, off of Disneyland Drive, between West Katella Avenue and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel.
Downtown Disney Parking Fee
Parking at downtown Disney rate is as follows, the first hour of parking costs $10. The validation applies after the first hour of paid parking.
You will also enjoy an additional 3 hours of same-day parking with a $ 20 minimum purchase and validation from any Downtown Disney location or up to five additional hours of same-day parking with validation from any Downtown Disney table-service restaurant.
Outside the validations, any additional hour costs $14, which is charged in 30-minute increments, with a minimum of $7.
The maximum daily parking and lost ticket fee is $66.
The restaurants and lounges within Disneyland Resort hotels do not validate Downtown Disney District parking areas.
Disneyland Hotel Parking
The Disneyland Resort hotels has set aside parking slots for self-parking for registered hotel Guests. Valet parking is available at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and the Disneyland Hotel. The hotel Guest parking is not allowed at the parking locations that are designed for theme parks or the Downtown Disney District.

Disneyland hotel parking fee for the Hotel Guests is as follows:-
- Valet parking: $50 per night per vehicle
- Self-parking: $35 per night per vehicle
- Oversized vehicle parking: $40 per night per vehicle

- Goofy’s Kitchen: offers 3 hours of complimentary parking—your choice of valet or self-parking—with restaurant validation at Disneyland Hotel
- Tenaya Stone Spa: offers five hours of included parking— your choice of valet or self-parking—at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa when you spend $125 or more at Tenaya Stone Spa.
Daily Standard Rates:
- Self-parking: $35 per vehicle for the first hour – Each additional hour is $10, with a maximum rate of $75

The Electric Vehicle Charging Stations are available at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and Disneyland Hotel. They are located at the Fantasy self-parking lot of the Disneyland Hotel and on the ground floor of Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel self-parking structure.
